They say the Essex was John Dillinger’s favorite get away car. Well he would have loved this beautiful Candy Apple Red one. This beautiful street rod started life as a vary rare 1931 two door Essex sedan then it went through a very extensive customization. The top was chopped 3 inches and the body was given a beautiful, deep luster, Candy Apple Red Matallic paint job. It has a matching Burgundy Velour interior that features tilt steering wheel, power driver’s seat, power steering, heat and AIR CONDITIONING. This Essex is powered by a 350 Chevy engine hooked to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission delivering power to the road through a 3:55 posi rear end. The chassis features a Mustang II front end with front disc brakes and drum brakes on the rear. The stainless steel exhaust has been put on recently and is like new.
